Police have renewed their efforts to catch a murderer who stabbed a dad-of-one in his garden 11 years ago. Colin Hughes was killed at the rear of his home after he went to investigate a noise in the early hours of the morning.
The 42-year-old was knifed to his chest and was found by his partner Paula who cradled him in her arms as he lay bleeding until the ambulance arrived.
Although ten people were arrested and questioned in connection with the murder, nobody has been charged and the killer remains at large.In recent years, detectives reviewing the case have concentrated on two appeal points - a white man, 5ft 10 in tall, of slim build, wearing a dark coloured tracksuit, who was seen in the alleyway behind Mr Hughes’ home just prior to his.
