The body of a woman found at a country park was in several parts, according to reports. Police have not formally identified the woman but she was named locally as mum Yvonne Lawson McCann.
A murder investigation was launched after "human remains" were found at Reddish Vale Country Park in Stockport at around 10.30am on Monday, May 25.
Police said they believed they belonged to a woman in her 40s. Yvonne, also known as Vonnie, lived close to the park in Brinnington.
It is understood she was a mother. The Manchester Evening News reported that her body was found in several pieces. Formal identification has not yet taken place, but police said the woman's next of kin has been informed.
