Mumford & Sons have announced details of an intimate, live-streamed show taking place in Manchester. Check out the details below.The new show is set to take place in partnership with Amazon Music, as part of the latest run of City Sessions.Held at the Aviva Studios in Manchester, the indie folk band will be taking to the stage on Wednesday April 2 for a performance that will be streamed live on Prime Video and the Amazon Music UK channel on Twitch.It comes in celebration of the group’s forthcoming album ‘RUSHMERE’, which is set for release on March 28 via Island/Glassnote (pre-order/pre-save here).The LP follows 2018’s ‘Delta’, and has already been previewed with the title track and the single ‘Malibu’.
It also marks Mumford & Sons’ first LP as a trio, comprising Mumford, Ted Dwane and Ben Lovett. This comes as banjoist Winston Marshall departed the group in 2021.As for City Sessions, the series has seen performances from the likes of Kings of Leon, Nelly Furtado and Glass Animals, and the Mumford & Sons gig marks the last of four shows across 2024 and 2025 presented by Aviva.
Find out more details here.News of the Manchester gig comes following Mumford & Sons playing an impromptu pair of pop-up acoustic shows in London earlier this week.After being announced on Tuesday morning, they played at the 420-capacity Flat Iron Square in Central London later that night.
Due to the length of the queues outside the venue, they decided to play a second set so they could let as many people in as possible.
