A young mum who was diagnosed with bowel cancer has spoken out about her experience in the hope of tackling the stigma around the "embarassing" symptoms.
Lauren Fresa was aged just 33 when she was diagnosed with bowel cancer, a condition that commonly affects people over the age of 60.
Lauren, from Buckley, said that she decided to open up about her ordeal to encourage others to get checked out, no matter the "embarrassment" that may come from speaking about the symptoms, North Wales Live reports.Lauren first made a visit to her GP back in September 2020 after noticing a change in her bowel movements, but was simply prescribed laxatives and told to keep an eye on things.
