A mum with a three-month-old child in a baby carrier claims she was turned away from a store due to its social distancing policy.

Kat Bailey says she was told Makro, which serves trade customers, had banned under-16s in its stores due to social distancing measures.

The mum said she had no childcare when she tried to go to the store on Tuesday. Kat, who owns a fitness studio in Nottingham, said the rule was unhelpful for business owners who are parents.

She was hoping to stock up on drinks, protein bars, hand sanitiser and cleaning equipment from the wholesaler. Kat told the BBC : "I got turned away because of my baby.
