Over 20 years ago, mum Elizabeth Johnson purchased a 'dreadful' 1905 terrace and has since transformed it into the home of her dreams.
Originally hailing from Liverpool, 52 year old Elizabeth spent part of her childhood in Canada. After returning to her Scouse roots 22 years ago, she was charmed by a quirky terraced house in Aigburth, despite its obvious need of a serious sprucing up.
Looking past the 'rotting windows' and lack of heating, she immediately saw the potential for it to be a colourful vintage wonder, reports the Liverpool Echo. I had no heating, the windows were rotten, it had a barely functioning kitchen or bathroom, and to be honest that's why I could afford it." She explained further: "When I bought it, it was £10,000 cheaper than the rest on the street, I paid £42,000 for it in 2002.
