The mum - who the M.E.N cannot name for legal reasons - says her ex started slashing at kitchen lino with a knife during the outburst last year.
She and a friend tried to wrestle the knife from him and he was later arrested, but never charged - despite her handing over ‘video evidence’ to police.
The mum says the whole experience has eroded her confidence in the justice system. “What justice have me and my son got?” she says.
