The devastated mum of a teen boy who was stabbed in the street says his death has left 'huge hole in all our hearts'. Gordon Gault was allegedly attacked with a machete just half an hour after leaving his family home on Wednesday, November 9.
His mum, Dionne Barrett, says the blade sliced through a major artery when the 14-year-old raised his arm to try and cover his head during the assault in Elswick, Newcastle.
Dionne received a call saying her son had been injured and was immediately driven from her Benwell home to Sovereign Place in Elswick, Chronicle Live reports.
Gordon's friend had attempted to carry him to safety, with several other pals and people from nearby homes desperately trying to help him when Dionne arrived at the scene.
