The mother of a young Perth man who was stabbed to death in a city flat said her family are the ones facing a life sentence - as his murderer was detained for life.
Caleb Ferguson was given a life sentence for murdering Kerry Burgess’ 20-year-old son, Cameron Rae - known as Cammy - in a South Methven Street flat on April 8 last year.
Ferguson, who was 18 at the time of the murder, was ordered to serve at least 16 years before becoming eligible to apply for parole.
Ms Burgess told the PA: “I’m totally deflated and empty. “I feel like we have been given the life sentence.” When Ferguson was led away from the dock at the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday to start his sentence shouts of “f***ing rot” and “f***ing burn” were directed at him from the public benches.
