An unnamed trucker was congratulated for stopping his lorry in the middle of the carriageway, after they spotted a man sitting over the edge of a bridge.

An extremely distressing image shows the man who had climbed over the railing of the bridge over the motorway. The driver moved their truck onto the hard shoulder and parked up, leaving the lorry directly underneath the man.

They then left it there until the man was safely escorted off the bridge. His 56-year-old mum from Manchester said she saw her son earlier that day and no idea he
