Furious Rebecca MARCIL turned Miss MARPLE to track down suspected thieves who snatched her beloved dog. The savvy mother of five spent eight days tailing her beloved Pebble – a black pug and Jack Russell cross worth £1,200.
She staked out suspects at night and returned early morning in a dogged bid to find her “fur baby”. Her hunt sparked a social media campaign and led to a string of tip-offs after Pebble became the latest pooch stolen in a lockdown dog-snatching epidemic.
Rebecca headed 30 miles south, 40 miles north, then 25 miles south again as she closed in on her targets. She would finally arrive at a travellers’ site where she spotted a pooch chained up at the back of a caravan.
