Mum GUILTY of causing partner’s death during horror crash after wedding

A mum faces a potential jail sentence after being found guilty of causing the death of her partner in a horror crash after they had left a wedding.

Alicia Fairclough, 34, had been driving Thomas Benson’s Audi A8 when it crashed into a tree in Bolton. She had been travelling at double the 30mph speed limit at the time of crash on Lever Park Avenue in Horwich, Manchester Crown Court heard.

Prosecutors claimed that she was driving ‘far too fast’ and was responsible for the collision, in which their eight-year-old daughter was also present.

She denied being responsible for the crash.
