A heartbroken mum who believes her dead baby's body parts were unlawfully retained and she's been lied to for 45 years has launched a double legal fight.
Lydia Reid has been desperate to find out what happened to her son Gary Paton ever since he died at just a week old at an Edinburgh hospital in 1975.
She is convinced the body doctors showed her at the time was not her little boy. And three years ago forensic experts dug up Gary's grave and found no evidence of any remains, fuelling the 71-year-old mum's belief she was given an empty coffin to bury, reports the Daily Record.
Lydia is now preparing to go to court to have what is left of her son's remains returned to her. She is also launching a £75,000 legal case against the Crown Office
