Mum charged with child neglect after 'abandoning 7 kids to live with abusive husband'

A mum has been charged with child neglect after allegedly leaving her seven kids home alone for months to go live with her 'abusive' husband.

Elidiesneins Perez, 35, of Miami, Florida, was arrested on Wednesday, after abandoning her children - aged four to 17 - in July, WSVN reports.

One of the kids, aged 15, has cerebral palsy and told officers he has missed physical therapy sessions. North Miami Beach Police say the siblings were given no contact details to reach their mum and had little food, surviving on rice for breakfast.

Perez's husband is said to have been arrested on July 16 on suspicion of child abuse in relation to two of the kids, resulting in a ban on going near them being issued.
