Mum begs Asda to take action after 'finding flea frozen in daughter's ice lolly'

A furious mum has hit out at Asda - claiming she found an insect frozen inside one of its own-brand ice lollies. Nikky Simpson has lodged an official complaint with the supermarket giant Asda after her 16-year-old daughter made the discovery.

Nikky, 49, had ordered the £1 box of six own-brand 'orange juice lollies' as part of her online shop which arrived last Saturday, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports.

Asda has confirmed it is aware of the complaint and is investigating. Nikky, from Chesterton, said: “I put the shopping away and because it was a warm day I said to my daughter ‘should we have an ice lolly?’ "We got them out and she opened the packaging and then she said ‘mum I don’t really want to eat this, it has got a flea inside it’.
