A mum was stabbed in front of her five-year-old son in broad daylight as police launch a manhunt for the suspect. The woman, 24, was walking with the child when she was approached by a man, who was wielding a knife.
He then stabbed the mum in her leg before fleeing on foot. She remains in a stable condition. The attack happened at around 1.30pm on Friday (August 29) at Rudheath Avenue in Withington.
Police said the child was assessed by paramedics at the scene and had no visible injuries. Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch.
