'Much-loved' mum, 28, who dreamed of joining the police died after drug overdose

A beloved mum who aspired to be a police officer died after taking an accidental overdose. Laura Williams, 28, died at her home in Hull, East Yorks, in November last year after taking heroin and cocaine.

An inquest at  Hull Coroner's Court  heard Miss Williams was a much-loved mother to her 11-year-old son with a "strong work ethic".

The court heard that Miss Williams had studied to be a police officer and when she was 18 entered into a serious relationship before becoming a mother, Hull Live reports.

Assistant coroner Lorraine Harris told the court: "This relationship she had had broken down and she and her son had their own flat. "He was the centre of her world and she would do anything for him.
