The 47-year-old was badly injured when his white and blue Suzuki motorbike was involved in a collision with a white Ford Transit van on the stretch of the A34 in Handforth between the Polar Ford roundabout and the Tesco at Handforth Dean.

Emergency services raced to the scene just after 1pm. READ MORE: Girl, 9, fights off three masked men trying to grab her in playing field The bike rider was rushed to hospital with injuries that were said to be life-threatening.
