But whether you've got a cat or a dog - or any other pet - some name choices are definitely more favoured than others. And it turns out that one particular name is currently topping the list for both dogs and cats this year so far.
That's according to pet insurance experts at Comparethemarket.com who have collected data on the most popular pet names from thousands of owners all over the UK.The results state that Luna is currently the top choice for both dogs and cats, Wales Online reports.
Over 16,000 dogs and 3,343 cats in the UK are sporting this name. The name Milo is also increasingly popular, coming in third for both species.When it comes to the nation’s pooches, we see that the most popular names are female, with Luna (16,051), Bella (15,838) and Lola (11,636) all in the top five.
