Naming a baby is a tough choice for any parent – after all a name stays with a child for life.The decision isn’t one that parents take lightly however as times and trends change, so do the most popular names parents want to give their youngsters.
This year’s annual figures for the most popular baby names In England and Wales by the Office of National Statistics was surprising in some areas, as a favourite was knocked off the top spot.
Noah came in as the most popular boys' name for 2021, replacing Oliver from the previous year, meanwhile England and Wales' favourite girls name remains Olivia – a moniker that has been at the top of the list for six years in a row.
New entries this year to the top 100 include Lara, Beatrice and Sara for girls and Blake, Brody, Kai, Rupert, Tobias and Nathan for boys.
