A man carrying a fake bomb took staff members hostage at a bank and threatened to blow up the building before armed police stormed the building.

One of the hostages is said to have live-streamed video of the drama on social media while he was held inside an Alfa-Bank branch in central Moscow, Russia.

Footage posted online is alleged to have shown the suspect pacing around in an office and masked police storming the building where about six people were being held.

The hostage-taker is said to have walked in with a food delivery bag and claimed that it contained a bomb, and was reportedly wearing the uniform of a local food delivery chain as he demanded a huge sum of money.
