Chelsea director Eugene Tenenbaum was caught up in a sanctions storm today after the UK government took action against Roman Abramovich.The Blues were thrown into turmoil as their billionaire Russian owner had his assets frozen - and the club now faces an uncertain future.But the sanctions have implications for Tenenbaum too, who is described on Chelsea's own website as "one of Abramovich's closest associates."In making their case against Chelsea's owner, the UK government pointed the finger at his steel company Evraz PLC, which has its headquarters in London.One of the accusations levelled at Abramovich is that Evraz may have supplied steel for Russian tanks involved in the invasion of Ukraine.Tenenbaum - who was born in Ukraine - sits on the board of both Chelsea and Evraz.Official UK government documents published on Thursday said: "Evraz PLC is or has been involved in providing financial services, or making available funds, economic resources, goods or technology that could contribute to destabilising Ukraine or undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty or independence of Ukraine – which includes potentially supplying steel to the Russian military which may have been used in the production of tanks."Tenenbaum, who has yet to comment, joined the Chelsea board when Abramovich purchased the club in 2003, and was appointed to the board of Evraz in 2011.He was born in Ukraine when it was part of the former Soviet Union but moved to Canada at a young age.Tenenbaum is a long-time associate of Abramovich and was formerly head of corporate finance at Sibneft, the oil company sold by Abramovich in 2006.But he faces an uncertain future at the club with the Chelsea owner attempting to sell despite being

Morrisons has said it will reduce the price of its petrol to a maximum of 99.7p per litre at its UK forecourts from Monday.

Back in January, the RAC predicted that coronavirus would cause fuel costs to drop.
