St Johnstone fans have appeared at Perth Sheriff Court, charged with taking part in shameful scenes following the club’s Scottish Cup triumph almost two months ago.
A sixth had a warrant issued for his arrest after he failed to turn up to answer charges of throwing flares, smoke bombs or other pyrotechnics at police and security officers at McDiarmid Park on the evening of Saturday, May 22.All are accused of “behaving in a threatening or abusive manner” when it is alleged that security officer Margaret McKenna was injured by one of the missiles.
It is understood that a total of 25 supporters were charged in the wake of the club’s 1-0 victory over Hibernian at Glasgow’s Hampden Park.
