Moonchild Sanelly has announced her third album ‘Full Moon’ with a new single called ‘Do My Dance’, and shared details of a 2025 UK and Ireland tour.
Listen and find all the details below.The South African musician and dancer is due to release the record on January 10 via Transgressive, following on from 2022’s ‘Phases’.
You can pre-order/pre-save it here.Recorded in Malawi, the UK and Sweden, and produced by Johan Hugo (Self Esteem, M.I.A., Kano), the 12-track ‘Full Moon’ is said to showcase Sanelly’s “unique sonic fingerprint, joyous attitude, distinctive vocals and genre-bending hit-making prowess”.The forthcoming LP is set to see the artist delve into electronic, afro-punk, edgy-pop, kwaito and hip-hop music.“I called this record ‘Full Moon’ to convey a really clear sense that I got from living and writing these experiences,” explained Sanelly in a statement. “‘Phases’ showcased all my sides, the different phases of the moon, and this one is all those parts of me being in unison with each other.”She continued: “When the moon is in phases, it shows parts of itself at a time. ‘Full Moon’ is me, lit up in my entirety.
The arrival of my whole self. It’s the arrival.”‘Do My Dance’ is an energetic and anthemic taste of the new record, with rapid-fire verses skipping atop a happy hardcore-inspired drum beat.The single is accompanied by a colourful official music video, which was directed by Nate Thomas and filmed in Johannesburg.
