Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

One of the country’s top model railway exhibitions is back on track and ready for its return to Perth. After a two-year absence as a result of the COVID pandemic, members of Perth Model Railway Group are looking forward to welcoming visitors and exhibitors from all over the UK at the end of the month. The exhibition on June 25 and 26 will include over 90 exhibitors, of which 35 will be working model railway layouts. The Perth club will be taking two of its own layouts, a scale model of Laurencekirk station and yards as they were in the 1960s and a model based on a fictional location in North America. The model of Laurencekirk, which has featured in model railway magazines, was built by the club using old photographs from the 1960s and scale drawings of the station, signal box, yard area and surrounding houses. As well as authentic buildings, the layout also features authentic trains which once ran between Perth and Aberdeen before the station closed in 1967.Other layouts based on real locations around Perth include Dundee Model Railway Club’s “Arbroath” layout, East Neuk Model Railway Club’s “St Andrews and Guard Bridge” layout and Edinburgh based “Glendevon and Yetts O’ Muckhart” layout. As well as the working model railway layouts, a number of retailers selling model railways and accessories along with railway based societies and miniature train rides will also be available.Stan Moug of Perth Model Railway Group said: “We are delighted to be able to put on the exhibition again and look forward to displaying layouts from Scotland and beyond featuring a mixture of real location and fictional locations.“One of the more unusual layouts this year will be of a Japanese layout “Ishinaka”.
