Mira Furlan was an actress best known for her roles on the TV shows “Babylon 5” and “Lost.”Furlan began her acting career in her home of Zagreb, in the former Yugoslavia.
She and her husband, director Goran Gajić, immigrated to the U.S. in 1991 amid the Croatian War of Independence. There, she joined the Actors Studio and began getting U.S.
acting jobs, landing a notable one when she was cast as Minbari Ambassador Delenn on “Babylon 5” in 1993. Furlan was among the central characters of the show’s ensemble cast for its entire five-season run.
Several years later, she landed a notable recurring role on the hit series “Lost,” playing shipwrecked scientist Danielle Rousseau, who was a key part of the island’s weird mysteries.
