Mindy Kaling showed off a big beauty transformation at last night's Oscars

Plenty of stars turned heads on Sunday night, but Mindy Kaling had Oscars watchers doing a double take with her red carpet look.The Mindy Project actress, 43, was one of the night’s presenters, which meant the spotlight was firmly on her.

While there’s plenty of talk on Twitter this morning about her incredible gowns (more on that in a moment), it’s her beauty transformation that really seems to have the internet talking.

Mindy usually opts for understated glamour for a red (well, champagne) carpet event, but for the Oscars 2023 she went all out with her hair and make-up.

With a sculpted complexion, slicked-back, wet-look hair that fell down past her waist and a bold lip, we wouldn’t be surprised if the mum-of-two was inspired by Kim Kardashian for this look – and Twitter seems to agree. “The Kim Kardashian look of Mindy Kaling,” says one, while a second chimes in with: “This is the most beautiful Mindy Kaling has looked on a red carpet.” A third asks: “I guess I haven’t seen her in a while I can’t believe this is Mindy Kaling?” while a fourth adds: “I’m not sure what transformation Mindy Kaling is going through, but I’m here for it!” Of course, long, dark and tousled hair isn’t trademarked by Kim, but we can see some similarities between Mindy’s Oscars beauty look and Kim’s go-to red carpet half-updo hairstyle.
