Miles Teller Addresses Rumor He'll Play Jesus in New Martin Scorsese Movie

Miles Teller cleared the air regarding a rumor that he’d bring Jesus to life in Martin Scorsese‘s forthcoming movie Life of Jesus.

The casting rumor first surfaced in April 2024. At the time, it was reported that Miles, 37, and Andrew Garfield were eying the role, with the film expected to enter production later that year.

Of course, that timeline has come and gone without any official casting announcement. However, Miles weighed in while attending the premiere of his new movie The Gorge on Wednesday night (February 12). Keep reading to find out more… Speaking to Variety, Miles said that he was not going to be playing the historic religious figure. “Dude, when I read that, I was calling my agent, like, ‘Did Martin Scorsese… Has this script gotten lost in the shuffle or something,’” he recalled.

He added that playing Jesus would be “a tough one.” That being said, he’d figure it out if the offer had come through. “I think pretty much any actor, if Martin Scorsese offers you something you say, ‘Yes, and I’ll figure it out.’” Miles said that he and Martin had never had any conversations about the movie. “I think that’s just one of those things that got put out there, and I have no idea how or why,” he added.
