The last saga in the feud seems to have begun last year after Mickey claimed that Martin Scorsese wanted him to be in The Irishman, but then De Niro refused to work with him. “The casting person told my manager that Robert De Niro said he refused to work with me in a movie,” Rourke said on an Italian talk show in September 2019.
