Mick Schumacher is set to follow in his father’s footsteps next year when he takes his place on the Formula 1 grid. The German youngster won the Formula 2 world championship this year after scoring ten podiums in 24 races, with two wins.
His efforts saw him rewarded with a seat in next year’s Formula 1 grid, as he takes over from Romain Grosjean. The 21-year-old drove in the Ferrari SF90 earlier in the year, and was due to take part in a test for the Alfa Romeo team at the Eiffel Grand Prix, only for the session to be cancelled due to bad weather.
His rise through the ranks has seen him earn comparisons with his legendary father, Michael, who won seven Drivers’ Championship titles in his incredible career.
