Oscar viewers were left frustrated after the awards ceremony's In Memoriam segment failed to mention late actress Michelle Trachtenberg. The star, who sadly passed away on 26 February at the age of 39, was known for her impressive acting journey that began at age 11.
Her impressive career launched with the classic Harriet the Spy in 1996 and she went on to star in Ice Princess, Eurotrip, and Inspector Gadget, while she was also well known for Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl.
Despite never being nominated for an Oscar, Trachtenberg amassed 64 film and TV credits. Disappointed viewers took to social media to air their grievances, with one fan penning: "Michelle Trachtenberg not being mentioned in the in memoriam section of the oscars is upsetting , you are and will remain so so loved and admired Michelle." Another voiced: "It's shameful that the #Oscars didn't include Michelle Trachtenberg in their memorial montage of all the actors/actresses who have passed within the year! !" A further critique noted: "Michelle Trachtenberg was not included in the In Memoriam.
Feels like a major oversight the week that a 39-year-old who grew up in the industry suddenly died." One particularly angry fan exclaimed: "F**k the #Oscars for not including Michelle Trachtenberg and Tony Todd in the memorial tribute", reports the Mirror.
