Michael Jordan is now finalizing a sale of the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets. The 60-year-old retired basketball legend is selling his majority stake to a group led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall. Michael has been the majority owner of the NBA team for thirteen years. They will become the franchise’s governors once the NBA completes its vetting and approval process, according to ESPN. After the sale, Michael Jordan will retain a minority stake in the Charlotte Hornets.
While under Michael‘s ownership, the Hornets made the playoffs three times, losing in the first round each time. Michael has been the NBA’s only Black majority owner.
