Former EastEnders star Michael revealed last week that his baby had been born early and was diagnosed with a rare defect called Gastroschisis.
The tot has now left the emergency ward and is making encouraging progress. Despite being born in England, there is absolutely no doubt that Gianluca will grow up to be an Italy fan just like his patriotic father.
The former soap star is a big football man and proud of his country - even blagging a ticket in the posh seats at Wembley last night.
