Tram services on the Ashton Line were temporarily suspended after a tram collided with a car. Images show the car, a dark blue Toyota, with a large dent in the driver's side and the driver's side front wheel missing.
The wheel itself was laying on the road in front of the car. Emergency services vehicles including a police van and an ambulance were also at the scene.
Transport for Greater Manchester confirmed that there had been a collision between a tram and a car on the line. This resulted in services being suspended on the Ashton Line between Velopark and Ashton-under-Lyne. TfGM has since confirmed that tram services are running again following the collision. A TfGM spokesperson previously said: “There has been a collision between a tram and a car between Edge Lane and Clayton Hall stations on the Ashton Line.
