The weather will turn wintry in Greater Manchester tomorrow (Thursday, March 9), with snow forecast to fall across some boroughs.
The weather has been getting chillier as the week has gone on, with temperatures dipping below freezing on Thursday. A yellow weather warning for snow is in place, covering our region from 7am tomorrow until 2pm on Friday (March 10).
The Met Office has warned that delays on roads may occur, as well as disruption and cancellations to rail and air travel. The UKHSA has also warned that those vulnerable to cold weather should stay inside and ensure their house is kept warm. More than 4mm an hour of snow will fall in Bolton, Oldham and Rochdale during the heaviest showers. Manchester will avoid the snow, but is forecast sleet and rain throughout the day.
