Met Office snow forecast for each Greater Manchester borough hour-by-hour on Tuesday

Many across Greater Manchester have woken up tho e blanket of snow outside as the white stuff fell overnight. As a result there is disruption on the roads with a number of schools also having to close their doors.

A yellow snow and ice warning remains in place for the region and will last all day today. Forecasters also predict that 'further snow showers, perhaps merging into a longer spell of snow, are likely to cause further disruption on Tuesday'.

The Met Office said a 'cold plunge of Arctic air' has moved south across the whole country over the past few days, making it 5C to 6C lower than usual for this time of year. Met Office forecaster Craig Snell said Tuesday could see a “persistent band of snow” over three to six hours across Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of northern England and Wales.
