The Met Office has issued an update ahead of the arrival of Storm Babet. The season's second named storm is expected to arrive in the UK later this week, bringing strong winds and heavy rain to many across the country.
A weather warning for heavy rain was issued for much of the country yesterday, including eastern parts of Greater Manchester, near to the Pennines and Peak District.
The warning was due to come into force at 9pm tomorrow (October 18). But in an update this afternoon (Tuesday), the warning will now come into effect at 6am on Thursday, and run until 6am on Saturday.
