The Met Office has issued a new rain warning ahead of heavy downpours later today and overnight. The warning, which covers all of Greater Manchester, will come into force at 6pm today (Tuesday) and will last until 12pm tomorrow.
Forecasters predict that during this time, heavy rain 'may lead to some travel disruption and flooding in places'. The downpours could lead to delays or cancellation on buses or trains, as well as some flooding on roads with a 'small chance' of flooding to homes and businesses.
As well as our region, the warning also covers other regions in the North West, parts of the West Midlands, the South West and Wales. Forecasters predict the downpours will begin from around 11pm and will continue into the early hours of Wednesday morning. More cloudy conditions are then expected through tomorrow morning, with lighter showers forecast again during the afternoon.
