Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully at the age of 96 at Balmoral, ending her 70-year reign.News of her majesty’s death came after it was announced on Thursday lunchtime that she was under medical supervision and ‘comfortable’.In light of the news, the Mercury Prize will not go ahead as planned today, however will be rescheduled for a later date.
A spokesperson said in a statement: ‘Tonight’s Mercury Prize event has been postponed at this time of great national sorrow.
We know everyone involved in the Mercury Prize will understand. ‘Our thoughts and condolences are with The Royal Family at this very difficult time.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has died after 70 years on the throne, with her death announced by Buckingham Palace on September 8, 2022.
