Police sealed off a city centre after reports of two men armed with guns on the roof of a Poundland. Officers were called to reports of two people who appeared to be holding firearms on the roofs above Specsavers and Poundland in Southampton.
One man has been injured in the leg in what police say is a pellet gun injury, but his injuries are not believed to be serious. "We therefore believe those seen were carrying air weapons," detectives said in an updated statement.
Police searched the scene and have now left - but are yet to find the men. A witness earlier posted photos of what appeared to be two men on top of a roof, and tweeted "get out of town".
