Welcome to the rise of the ‘tweaker’ sex… Latest figures from British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) show that around 10% of all cosmetic surgery procedures carried out in the UK today are now performed on men, a rise of 118% from 2021.
Some days at our clinic there are more men in our waiting room than women, and over the last year we’ve seen a surge in the number of men seeking tweakments at our Harley Street Skin clinic such as wrinkle-smoothing jabs, thread lifts and body sculpting procedures.
Around 35 percent of our clients are now male – a rise from 20 percent pre-lockdown – and demand is growing yearly. Generally, our male clients range in age from early 20s to mid 60s, but we have also treated one 73-year-old man who wanted to have a face and necklift so he could “get back out there” after divorce.
