Not so long ago, it was pretty rare to see a man splashing out on a moisturiser let alone a manicure.These days, he will more than likely have his own stash of lotions and potions, and don’t be surprised if he’s booking in to have lipo on his love handles too.

Welcome to the rise of the ‘tweaker’ sex… Latest figures from British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) show that around 10% of all cosmetic surgery procedures carried out in the UK today are now performed on men, a rise of 118% from 2021.

Some days at our clinic there are more men in our waiting room than women, and over the last year we’ve seen a surge in the number of men seeking tweakments at our Harley Street Skin clinic such as wrinkle-smoothing jabs, thread lifts and body sculpting procedures.

Around 35 percent of our clients are now male – a rise from 20 percent pre-lockdown – and demand is growing yearly. Generally, our male clients range in age from early 20s to mid 60s, but we have also treated one 73-year-old man who wanted to have a face and necklift so he could “get back out there” after divorce.
