Four things played a major role in convincing Memphis Depay to leave Manchester United, according to one of the men who helped engineer his move.
Depay left United to join Lyon in 2017 after failing to establish himself as a regular player under either Louis van Gaal or Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
During his final season at the club the Dutch winger started just one match, against Northampton in the EFL Cup, before he decided to seek a move away in the January transfer window.
In order to secure a move Depay spoke with Giels Brouwer, the founder of SciSports, a sports analytics company which deals heavily in football data intelligence.
