Melinda Messenger has claimed she was sexually assaulted while working in Formula One as a grid girl. The former model, who has since traded in her career in the spotlight to become a transpersonal psychotherapist, said the incident happened while working for Eddie Jordan's Formula One team in the late nineties. "On the team, there was a masseur for the drivers, and he offered massages to the girls as well," Melinda claimed to The Sun. "In my foolish naivety, I was like, 'Oooh, a massage, that would be really nice'," she added. "But then, while having it, I suddenly thought, 'No, this is all wrong'." Melinda claimed that she got herself out of the situation "in the nick of time".
She said she did not report the man and "put it behind her". OK! has contacted Melinda and F1 for further comment. Melinda alleged that the incident was one of the "hundreds" she experienced at the grand Prix job she had alongside other glamour models such as Katie Price and Emma Noble.
Revealing that she "didn't have the ability to protect myself properly", Melinda claimed that she had "terrible, non-existent boundaries" and did not know how to say "no".
She added that she only called someone out on their behaviour during a photoshoot for a catalogue in her twenties. Melinda said she caused a fuss as she walked out from the shoot because she had been flown out to Los Angeles for it.
