In 1983, Hedren set up the Roar Foundation — named after her cult 1981 film Roar, which she starred in with several of the cats — and the 80-acre Shambala Preserve, which has given sanctuary to a wide variety of exotic big cats throughout its many years of existence.Back in 2020, Tippi's granddaughter Dakota even revealed that her she still has several tigers and lions.
