MailOnline.com said Alyssa Farah Griffin, who served as former President Donald Trump's White House communications director, will reportedly be named as Meghan's permanent replacement on the ABC show.

The news isn't completely surprising, as Alyssa has often contributed to "The View" panel and was considered the frontrunner for the gig.Although ABC said it wasn't prepared to make a decision "at this time," a source told the New York Post that an announcement should come within two weeks.Since appearing on "The View," Alyssa has sometimes clashed with her fellow panelists, much like her predecessor often did.

Still, Alyssa has some big shoes to fill, as Meghan became a huge conservative voice during her four seasons on the show.Although Meghan praised the show in announcing her decision to leave in July 2021, she later said she doesn't "miss it at all." "I felt like I was really happy to do it on my own terms because a lot of people get fired from that show," she said in a MailOnline column. "I was happy that I got to make the decision and be in control of my own life.

And, you know, 'The View' was and is incredible and gave me so much. I don't feel anything negative about it. But I also really pride myself in life on knowing when to hold them and when to fold them, like I'm such a gambler."While several women have been the conservative voice on "The View," including Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Candace Cameron Bure and Abby Huntsman, none seemed to challenge her fellow panelists like Meghan.
