Meghan McCain Gets Triggered By Carrie Coon After ‘White Lotus’ Star Said Former ‘View’ Co-Host Was “Gratified” For Conservative Character

Meghan McCain was triggered by The White Lotus star Carrie Coon after comments about the conservative character on the HBO series.

The former View co-host took to social media to call out Coon over her usage of the word “gratified” in a recent interview. “Yes Carrie, I am ‘gratified that the conservative character represented one not making a fool of herself,” McCain posted on X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk and formerly known as Twitter.

McCain added, “Unlike the progressive liberal you’re representing who is sleeping with hotel staff and showing her tits to everyone.” Coon, who is very active on the microblogging platform calling out the Trump administration, quoted McCain’s post and added, “I didn’t realize my quote was so inflammatory.

Is ‘gratified’ a new trigger word?” McCain fired back adding, “Let me tell you, if I were on a hit tv show on HBO the last thing I would be doing is spending my time fighting with conservatives for weeks.” The quote McCain took issue with was from an interview Coon did with The Hollywood Reporter, where the actress highlighted the portrayal of the conservative character Leslie Bibb plays in the series. “I do think people like Meghan McCain and her community are really gratified to see a conservative person on television,” Coon told the publication. “I have conservative people in my life who reached out to me to say that was an awesome conversation, because I don’t think it vilifies Kate.” In The White Lotus Season 3, Coon plays a character on a girls trip to Thailand where she finds out one of her friends voted for Donald Trump.
