Meghan Markle is tipped to make a return to acting after leaving Hollywood for royal life when she married Prince Harry . Reports in Australia suggest that the 41 year old could star in a sequel to the 1992 classic The Bodyguard. This is quite something, considering Harry’s mum, Princess Diana, was considered to star opposite Kevin Costner in a proposed follow-up.
In 2012, he told New York Magazine: "The studio liked the idea of doing a Bodyguard 2" with Diana as the new love interest.” He continued by saying that the two of them had even spoken over the phone about it. "I just remember her being incredibly sweet on the phone, and she asked the question: ‘Are we going to have, like a kissing scene?' She said it in a very respectful way. "I said: 'Yeah.’” "'There’' going to be a little bit of [kissing], but we can make that okay too.'" However, Diana eventually turned it down, telling Kevin: “Look, my life is maybe going to become my own at some point.
Go ahead and do this script, and when it's ready I'll be in a really good spot." OK! has approached Meghan's representatives for comment. This follows the end of the couple’s multimillion Netflix deal.
Meghan’s podcast, Archetypes, in which she spoke to various famous faces such as Paris Hilton and Mariah Carey, was cancelled by the streaming giant back in June.
