Royal expert and friend of the Sussexes Omid Scobie has revealed why Meghan Markle will not be attending the coronation of her father-in-law King Charles.
Earlier today, Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Harry will be attending the coronation, but that his wife and children will not.
Confirming the Duke of Sussex's attendance, the Palace release a statement, which read: "Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May.The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet." This may not come as a surprise to fans of the Sussexes, as many had theorised that Meghan would likely remain in Santa Barbara for her son Prince Archie's birthday.
Confirming this theory, Omid took to Twitter as the news was confirmed, telling his followers: "I understand that Archie's fourth birthday (also on May 6) played a factor in the couple's decision. "Expect it to be a fairly quick trip to the UK for Prince Harry, who will only be attending the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey." The confirmation of the Prince's attendance at the historic event comes after weeks of speculation as the whether he and Meghan would be in attendance or not.The relationship between the Sussexes and other members of the Royal family has only worsened in recent months, especially in the aftermath of the publication of Harry's bombshell memoir Spare.
