It was "never likely" Meghan Markle would attend King Charles' Coronation after she was put in an "impossible position", Royal sources have claimed.The Duchess of Sussex, 41, will not be attending the King's crowning in May, with husband Prince Harry, 38, jetting to the UK alone for the celebrations, Buckingham Palace confirmed on Thursday.
Meghan will remain in California, where she and Harry are based, with the couple's two young children, Archie, three, and Lilibet, one.
Harry was reportedly in talks with Buckingham Palace for weeks after sharing his intention to travel to the UK for his father's Coronation and there were several signs hinting that Meghan wouldn't be joining him, according to insiders.
A royal source told the Mirror: “The truth of the matter is the Duchess was never likely to attend the coronation. “The mood from California was that she felt increasingly put in an impossible position and there’s a fair sense of relief that the situation is resolved after so much speculation and uncertainty. “It is one thing to attend the late Queen’s funeral out of respect for Her Majesty but another thing entirely to attend the start of a new reign.” OK!
