An actor from Disney's remake of The Lion King has said he is "baffled" by the Duchess of Sussex's story about people in South African taking to the streets to celebrate her Royal wedding.
Dr John Kani, who voiced Rafiki in the movie, has said Meghan Markle seems to have made a "faux pas" in her recent interview with US magazine, The Cut, where she said an unnamed South African actor from the cast of the movie made the comments to her about her wedding. The actor, who claims to be the only South African cast member of The Lion King remake, went on say he'd never met the Duchess – despite Meghan having said she chatted to a South African actor at the film's premiere.
Meghan recalled a moment that she was told that her royal wedding in 2018 led to celebrations in South Africa that mirrored the atmosphere when Nelson Mandela was freed from jail.
During the interview that has already caused much controversy, Meghan recalled being at the Lion King Premiere in London in 2019 and speaking to a male South African cast member.
